PARS ONE @ BIG EARS 2006

PARS ONE, a club rocket, had its first flight at BIG EARS 2006.

Built by Oliver Neil Smith, Dan Goldsmith and Howard Smith, the 4x E-Class Cluster, looking rather than a THOR, was an impressive launch indeed (G Impulse equivalent). On the day, the parachute failed to deploy, but the tall crops prevented the rocket being destroyed. An onboard bleeper premitted the rocket to the found.

(Our thanks to Niall Oswald for these excellent pictures. Visit his web site for other excellent pictures from BIG EARS 2006)

Come visit us at a future event and we'll let you launch PARS ONE yourself.

A bleeper enables the rocket to be recovered, despite
being buried in tall crops several hundred yards away.
