PARS goes to Flaming Lips UK Tour 2006, Brighton Centre, Nov 4th

The music of The Flaming Lips has become somewhat of an anthem for the Purley Amateur Rocketry Society

Featured on some of our rocket DVDs, the music is becoming known to more of our members through such excellent albums such as At War with the Mystics, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and The Soft Bulletin

PARS members Oliver Neil Smith and Alfie Shaw, travel to Brighton for the Flaming Lips UK Tour 2006

As the winter sun fell over the ocean, long shadows appeared on the beach, creating a surreal atmosphere - somehow appropriate for the onset of a Lips experience!

Before subjecting ourselves to the Lips experience, we
visited the amusments on Brighton Pier

Finally, inside the Brighton Centre. Finally it was real. A poster proved that something amazing was going to happen.

The Flaming Lips UK 2006 Tour, Brighton. Yup - real pictures from the concert

But we are wondering .....why do the Lips always seem to have a group of Father Christmas and Alien dancers on stage with them. There must be an answer out there?

Want to get into the Lips? We recommend the
following albums ...

Wayne - leads the Flaming Lips, directing the band and
others to make his crazy ideas into interesting realities

Michael - has been in the band with Wayne since the
beginning, and provides the band's technical expertise

Steven - is the musical brains behind the band; he also
plays most of the instruments on the records

One of our favorite tracks - from the Yoshimi Battles the
Pink Robots album - it's Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Part 1
