K-LOB 2006, Heckington - PARS core members assemble

At K-LOB 2006, all of PARS core members assembled for a weekend of rockets. This include Mark, Caroline, Alex and Seb Field, Howad, Chrysogon and Oliver Neil Smith, together with Alfie Shaw, Daniel Goldsmith and Kes Daood. We had many adventures.

The big news was Alex and Seb getting their Level 1. You can read about that achievement on its own page. Also, Dan Goldsmith beat the current E-Class UK record holder, Oliver Neil Smith, with a new E-Class record, which also has its own page.

For the rest of the story, see below.

Mark Field managed to get his car stuck in the mud. Mercedes may be great on the road, but they take a beating in a wet field. Fortunately, Mike Roberts and folks were at hand to push him out.

On arriving at the site, Pete's Farm, Heckington, there was a lot to set up. Fortunately, PARS boys helped set up the High Power Pads. Here they are, laying out the cables.

Alfie Shaw - helping get Pad 4 into shape.

Oliver Neil Smith, doing the same at pad 5.

PARS president Howard Smith was proud of how
the boys set to and helped with many tasks.

Here, Alex Field helps Mike Roberts set up the tannoy
system for announcing launch countdowns.

Dan Goldsmith, relaxing after this E-Class attempt. He
didn't know it at the time, but he had beaten the UK
record.

Kes Daood launched both of his records at K-LOB.

... and Rebel Rocketry make an appearence. It's always
great to see those guys over here in the UK.
