New model rocket facility in Purley

Press Release (20/05/07)

"Blast into open skies"

New Model Rocket Design and Fabrication Facility in Purley

Alexander, Sebastian and Mark Field are pleased to announce the formal opening of their new model rocket design and build facility in Purley :-)

Following months of intense negotiations (with person unnamed) "planning permission" has been obtained for the development of a new and permanent facility to replace the previous temporary one (i.e. the dinner table)

The new space is a significantly larger facility than before with state of the art CAD and build facilities (i.e. a PC) to support the design and development of the ‘next generation’. It will also provide a permanent home for the existing collection in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.

To mark this momentous occasion we are also pleased to announce that 'Resurrection' and 'Insurrection' are both ready to join the flight line. However, they will be remaining under wraps until their first launch date.

The new facility is open to PARS members who wish to enlist the help of Seb and Alex, who are now becoming quite experienced at designing and building rockets.

First view of the new facility - still clearly being set up.

PARS HQ2 was, and still is, a good "Garage" facility,
but the garage environment can be damp and dusty.
Rockets do not do well in damp conditions. The new
facility offers the critical "damp free" environment.

No doubt the garage (pictured above) will continue to
be used for the most messy jobs, but the new facility
is solely needed for the 'next generation' fabrication
being undertaken by PARS members.

We look forward to wonderful new projects emering
from PARS HQ2.
